Hello!

Rose is away for a few days so I've been left in charge of mission control Mwahahaaaaaaaa!!! First thing to do will be to figure out how to change the name to The Mike Lake Band!

We've both had a week off from our real jobs and had originally planned to do a bit of a mini tour around the South West. However, although it would have been lots of fun we decided our time was better spent in the studio to continue recording Geography. This certainly was the right decision, the recording has gone fantastically well and the songs have grown and evolved which will make this album something quite special.

Rose is a natural in the recording studio. Her experience and preparation was obvious. Special thanks to Leigh Crossman of The Ariel Recording Studio, his calming and professional manner made my first recording session a pleasure to do. We are probably 75% there with Geography and we are really looking forward to its release, watch this space.

So apart from recording? we've had a fun week acting like we're on tour, lots to sort out, normally over a pint... Well we are on holiday after all. We've had some cracking weather and it has inspired some songwriting from both of us. These new songs will be ready for you live soon.

We've sorted out a lively, upbeat set-list for our next gig which will be at The Champ - Appledore on Saturday 19th April. Our first time playing there together and it'd be great to see you there.

So with me at the helm for a few days to keep HMS Roholio on a straight and even keel what could possibly go wrong??

We are looking forward to a busy fun-packed Summer with an album launch, lots of new songs and hopefully some exciting news! (no, i'm not pregnant)

Mike :-D
