I am, as you might’ve guessed, quite passionate about music and I truly believe everyone can play an instrument and often it is only our inhibitions that hold us back.
I like to be a positive mentor for my students as too often I hear of folks who stop playing when, to me, it seemed they were progressing well. There’s a good quote by Thomas A. Edison and I think it’s worth repeating, “many of Life's failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up".
I love that moment when you’re showing a student something – it could be a chord or a bit of theory – and suddenly the penny drops and they’ve got it! That’s what it’s all about, making things that seem impossible, achievable.
I base my lessons around songs my students would like to learn – considering techniques and theory that may help along the way. Although I have two grades myself – 5 in classical singing and 7 in Music Theory – I do not teach them as I personally feel they can take the fun out of learning an instrument.
I am DBS checked with over 15 years of teaching experience and the instruments I tutor are: Guitar, Mandolin, Ukulele, Singing, 5 String Banjo and I can also teach theory and song writing.
I teach Monday to Friday from my home and I ask £15 for half an hour (which I would recommend for young learners) and £25 for an hour.

“Rose has been teaching my son, Frankie, guitar since 2018 and he loves his lessons. Rose has a fantastic way of working with children as she is very kind but also fun and knows how to engage her pupils by teaching them to play the music they enjoy. I highly recommend her as she is an excellent teacher as well as an amazing musician.” - Lucy F
